President-elect Barack Obama took no position, but was “closely monitoring global events, including the situation in Gaza, there is one president at a time and we intend to respect that,” said his chief national security spokeswoman, Brooke Anderson, pictured here alongside the new official, Commander-Elect-In-Chief chair, from which Obama sees all, hears all and knows all, but won’t take a stand. I too have been monitoring global events from the Barcalounger in my den. Does that make me qualified to be leader of the Free World? If so, then here are my Executive Orders: With 1.3 Million Palestinians and only 40,000 Hamasniks in all of Gaza, they should be able to “take out their own garbage” instead of leaving Israel to clean up their Ha-mess. If they can’t, or won’t sanitize their own neighborhood, then nobody should be surprised (or upset) that Israel is taking care of business. For four years, Barack Oblah blah criticized, second-guessed and derided every decision and position of the Bush Administration on both domestic and international issues, but now, when his (alleged) support for Israel, could really help blunt international condemnation of operation Cast Lead and put additional pressure on Hamas to give up the ghost, he hides behind his “one president at a time” bullcrap. How is it that Hamas is so skilled at sneaking Iranian Grad missiles into Gaza through clandestine tunnels, yet they don’t seem to be able to import food, medicine and common sense? Israel’s’ military objective ,of splitting Gaza in half, appears to be a strategy that could succeed in isolating the Hamas leadership in Gaza City to the north from the Philadelphia Corridor/Route along the Gaza/Egyptian boarder where the illicit importation of weaponry has taken place. Once Hamas is disarmed, or greatly diminished in offensive rocket capability, Israel will be able to keep them from rearming with a minimal force patrolling this non-urban buffer zone. Beam me up, Scottie!
